a friend just showed me a message from steven unthank on facebook where he mentioned (about 4 hours ago) that the state of victoria will be launching an investigation into all religions, including the jehovah's witnesses... he also mentioned that he will likely testify.. i don't know anything else about this because the message was brief, but i assume it has something to do with the protection of pedophiles.... has anyone else heard this yet?.

i was talking to my brother the other day... and he spilled the beans on some jw friends we had back in the day.
these were hard-core, religious jw teenagers, the kind that were chaperoned when they went on dates with good-standing sisters, the kind that, while they would not snitch on you, they would 'lovingly' offer counsel and all that.. .

Yes or a friend of a friend of a friend, it's called "Networking" and it works. You just have to put it out there and many times you get great leads or an actual job, a few of my jobs happened that way.
Unemployment office has classes as well as jobs posted, and if you're looking for something in particular there's city college or volunteering or temporary/temp agencies (big now) as well as internships.
to all my new friends, i need some advice.
as i posted in my original post i am not disfellowshipped, i just did a fade as i believe everyone here calls it.
i have great parents who are still part of the organization, and do not pressure me, but at the same time i must live a lie, and they have no problem with me living a lie, as long as they are comfortable.
I have empathy for you..
I personally believe senior JWs have believed for so long, it would shatter them not to live the lie, and or not associate with their child (unless they are easy going) which I don't think they are becasue of your fear of losig them.
Many families even in the world as Billy X mentioned stay away from certain topics for family peace, it's worth it. Unless you're involved in a project that could potentially out you.....why do it if the sacrafice is that great? If you can reason with your self you're side stepping out of love for your parents, it's easier to deal with.
The only true freedom is being away from that nasty WTS who enslaves people.
But if you must, I'd DA yourself, for some reason I personally feel it's better for two reason. DF always has a more negative connotation and when you DA you did it on your terms.
I still say mums the word, sometimes we are our own worst enimies......

to make a long story short, the society has printed instructions for attendants to not cal 911 for an emergency.

That was an important issue that was brought up in Michael Jacksons case. His so called doctore waited and called someone else before calling 911. I know for a question, there's been other cases as well but I can't remember them off hand.
Even in first aid/cpr classes they "stress" calling 911 first, then begin cpr or first aid.
